The Sound of Synths – Just Breathe

Originally, Luke had presented the instrumental with video showing a sunrise in a forest. This was the starting point for my lyrics. This is the first song for which I was co-writer, and the first co-writing project with Luke. I hope, of course, that there will be more, because Luke is quite amazingly talented.

The video includes an AI character, lip-synched to the vocals. Since my artist name sounds like Code-A, I call “him” Code-B, which in Icelandic is “Kóðeb” – literally “code number”. Considering the image is all code, this amused me greatly. So, meet the handsome synthetic incarnation, Kóðeb, the voicer of the lyrics in this music video.

I wanted to included a vocalist voicing the words, since not only are the lyrics important in the song, but they mean something. I did not want anyone to mishear the lyrics, even though Ben’s enunciation is very clear and precise. I’d say that the lyrics are spiritual and contemplative, specifically these: “Any moment/might be our last/Everything’s more lovely/because it will pass/You will never be/more loved than you are now…”. I meant that you should just live in that beautiful moment, just be in the now.

Main Artist: Telay Os; Songwriters: Luke Garfield & Martha Bijman; Performer: Ben Alexander (vocals and guitar solo); produced and engineered by Luke Garfield, Banana Llama Studios

Lyrics

Wake up, oh beautiful one
Wake up, Here is the sun
See how the golden light
mirrors your eyes, a shimmering sight

Just breathe, Ease in
to the sea of shades
Just breathe as you walk
through the gilded haze

Any moment might be our last
Everything’s more lovely because it will pass
You will never be more loved than you are now
as the sun gilds the sky and brushes the boughs

My beautiful one, The one I love
Wake up, Let’s greet the sun
On this most perfect day,
each moment is a golden ray

Just breathe, Ease in
to the sea of shades
Just breathe as you walk
through the gilded haze
