“Rondo”, which was released in 2024, was one of the first songs that Sean Berchik and I wrote together. I loved it, and then the work piled on and more songs followed, and many more albums. I forgot a bit about how good this song makes me feel.
I had another listen to “Rondo” the other day, and realized that I like it a lot. It’s a toe-tapper, it’s optimistic, and it’s so true. It’s about a relationship that has lasted so long, and is so natural, that neither of the people involved feel that there is a point or event that marks the beginning of it, nor that it will ever end. Like the seasons, it will just continue, round and round.
Summer is almost here now, and the trees are dressed in glowing green shades, the roses are going crazy with their blooms, and even the buttercups and forget-me-nots are blanketing the lawn like icing on a cake. It made me think about how love that endures comes around time after time, just like the seasons and the flowers.
Here’s “Rondo” for you – just ’cause. Enjoy. (I can bet that you won’t be able to sit still while you listen to this.)
